Sunshine Balm is made with a small, intentional blend of ingredients chosen for their soothing and protective qualities. Designed for everyday outdoor use, this balm helps care for the skin when you’re out enjoying the sunshine—without synthetic filters or unnecessary additives.
At the base of this formula is grass-fed, grass-finished tallow, a deeply nourishing fat rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. Because it closely mirrors the skin’s natural oils, it helps moisturize, protect, and support the skin barrier.
Uncoated, non-nano zinc oxide powder provides gentle, mineral-based protection while helping to calm and soothe the skin.
Organic red raspberry seed oil is rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, supporting skin resilience and helping maintain moisture during sun exposure. Raspberry Seed Oil is also a natural SPF.

Very little goes a long way. If you ever find it greasy, you’re using too much. Apply a small amount to exposed skin as needed while outdoors. Reapply as needed.

I have tried a couple different brand of Tallow and this is genuinely my favourite! I love the SPF properties as I use prescription acne products and this doesn’t irritate my skin in conjunction of use with that and calms my easily irritated texture! Love this stuff! Acne prone skin approved 😍

What is tallow skincare?
Tallow is a traditional skincare ingredient made from rendered beef fat. Its composition is remarkably similar to our skin’s natural oils, called sebum, which allows it to absorb easily and support the skin barrier rather than disrupt it.
Why do you use grass-fed, grass-finished tallow?
I use grass-fed, grass-finished beef suet (kidney fat only) because it is the purest and most nutrient-rich form of tallow. It comes from healthy cows and is free from antibiotics and hormones, resulting in a cleaner, higher-quality skincare product.
Are your products safe for babies and children?
Yes. Many of my products — especially Unscented — are gentle enough for babies and children. If you’re unsure, I always recommend starting with an unscented option and doing a small patch test first.
Can tallow clog pores?
Tallow is non-comedogenic for most people and closely mimics the skin’s natural sebum. Many customers with acne-prone or sensitive skin find tallow helps calm and balance their skin rather than clogging it.
What does tallow smell like?
Tallow has a very mild, natural scent. Essential oils are added to select products intentionally and gently for additional benefit, and add additional scent, not to overpower it. Unscented products contain no essential oils and retain a soft, natural aroma from the ingredients.
Do your products contain fragrance or synthetic ingredients?
No.
All products are free from:
• Synthetic or artificial fragrance
• Fillers
• Preservatives
• Artificial additives
Any scent comes naturally from essential oils or from the ingredients themselves.
How should I store my products?
Store at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight. Because these products are made without preservatives, temperature extremes may change texture but not effectiveness.
Do your products have a shelf life?
When stored properly, all products have a shelf life of 12–18 months. Even then, you can always stick it in the fridge! Always use clean hands to avoid introducing moisture into the jar.
What skin types are your products suitable for?
Little Valley Tallow products are suitable for all skin types, including:
• Sensitive skin
• Dry or dehydrated skin
• Reactive or eczema-prone skin
• Maturing skin
Many customers turn to tallow after struggling with irritation from conventional skincare.

All products are handcrafted by me, in small batches, in the Okanagan, British Columbia, with care, love and intention.
